Natural Health Therapies and Cancer – Part One
Natural Health Therapies and Cancer – Part One
Cancer. The word itself is alarming. It sounds like a death sentence. In many cases, it is. But it doesnât necessarily have to be that way. The topic of cancer is so large that we will take at least three or four articles to even start to touch on the main points. Like any other illness, the more you know about it, the better youâll be able to deal with it. For example, how much did you know about your own health issues before they touched your life personally? What would you have done differently in your life if you knew that it would prevent the problem from happening? Would you have been willing to make the changes? I imagine that you would. You have that opportunity with cancer. In a series of articles, weâll cover not only the natural health therapies for cancer but the lifestyle changes that help prevent cancer as well.
The increase in the rate of cancer is incredible. A hundred years ago, 1 in 33 people had cancer; today, 1 in 3 people either have cancer or will develop it. Statistics show that one American life is lost to cancer every 45 seconds. There is no other topic in medicine that has such urgency. So, exactly what is cancer? Basically, it is nature gone overboard. Healthy cells stop functioning properly for a variety of reasons and then start to reproduce hurt copies of themselves. The natural process of cells multiplying becomes accelerated because these new mutant cells are not regulated by the bodyâs normal controls. In addition, the life span of these cells is not controlled any longer, meaning that cancer cells become virtually immortal.
There are types and stages of cancer. Of the 150 different types of cancer, there are 5 major groups:
⢠Carcinomas â solid tumors from cells in the surface of the mouth, nose, throat, lung airways, skin, GI tract, GU tract, breast, and thyroid. Lung, prostate, stomach, skin, colon, and breast cancers are in this type.
⢠Sarcomas â solid tumor from bones, stout, and other soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, abdomen, heart, central nervous system, and blood vessels. These are the most rare and most deadly of solid tumors.
⢠Leukemias â a blood-borne cancer type characterized by an abnormal production of white blood cells.
⢠Lymphomas â solid masses of abnormal white blood cells concentrated in the lymph system. Examples of this type of cancer include Hodgkinâs disease and non-Hodgkinâs lymphomas.
⢠Myelomas â rare tumors from antibody-producing or blood cell-producing areas in the bone marrow.
Cancer is often described by what stage it is in. Staging in cancer refers to a scale used to determine amount of cancer, its location, size, and degree of containment. The four different levels listed below describe the stages of cancer.
⢠Stage I â earliest, most curable stage. Local tumor only.
⢠Stage II â some spreading of cancer to surrounding tissue and maybe nearby lymph nodes.
⢠Stage III â involves spreading to distant lymph nodes
⢠Stage IV â most advanced, least easily cured. Cancer has spread to distant organs.
Why do some people get cancer and others donât? What is the trigger that turns these healthy cells into mutants? What causes cancer? There are at least 33 contributing causes, according to various researchers. Each of these factors could be an article in itself so Iâll just provide you with the list for now. With this information, you can easily research these contributing items to increase your cancer knowledge. The factors that can contribute to cancer are:
1. Sunlight
2. Nuclear Radiation
3. Pesticide/Herbicide Residues
4. Industrial Toxins
5. Polluted Water
6. Tobacco and Smoking
7. Chronic Electromagnetic Field Exposure

12. Mercury Toxicity
13. Dental Factors
14. Chronic Stress
15. Depressed Thyroid Action
16. Intestinal Toxicity and Digestive Impairment
17. Parasites
18. Viruses
19. Diet and Nutritional Deficiencies
20. Nerve Interference Fields
21. Toxic Emotions
22. Blocked Detoxification Pathways
23. Chlorinated Water
24. Fluoridated Water
25. Ionizing Radiation
26. Geopathic Stress
27. Sick Building Syndrome
28. Free Radicals
29. Cellular Oxygen Deficiency
30. Cellular Terrain
31. Oncogenes
32. Genetic Predisposition
33. Miasm
Now that we have a small background knowledge on cancer, we will start to cover a wide range of clinically proven natural health therapies that can be helpful for people with various forms of cancer. Each of these types of complementary medicine has a wealth of scientific research available for review, thanks to the ongoing research of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In addition, each of the therapies is currently available through physicians with outstanding medical backgrounds. The bottom line is that all of the cancer therapies that I will discuss in the next few articles are valid and have been documented in scientific literature.
In upcoming articles, we will explore the use of the following methods for cancer therapy supported by scientific evidence:
⢠Nutrition â Dietary changes and Anti-Cancer Nutritional Supplements
⢠Anti-Cancer Herbal Supplements
⢠Innovative Anti-Cancer Substances
⢠Physical Support Therapies â Detoxification, Biological Dentistry, Water Therapy, Heat Therapy, Bodywork/Therapeutic Massage/Exercise, Qi Gong
⢠Energy Support Therapies â Electrodermal Screening, Magnetic Therapy, Light Therapy
In closing, please remember that early detection and prevention is the key to beating cancer. Here are the 8 Early Warning Signs for Cancer. If you experience any of these signs or symptoms, contact your physician immediately.
1. A Lump in the Breast or Testicles.
2. A Change in a Wart or Mole.
3. A Skin Sore or Sore Throat that Does Not Heal.
4. A Change in Bowel or Bladder Habits.
5. A Persistent Cough or Coughing Blood.

Business Health Checks – Beyond an Optional Subject
Business Health Checks – Beyond an Optional Subject
The concept referred to as business health checks has always existed, though perhaps on many occasions it has not been officially termed and realised as a fully fledged business activity. Organisations have internally monitored project flows, checked several accounts for business consistency and undertook various other checking roles, without realising it formed part of a business health check. But what was missing was the collaborative effort of the whole business.
What Are Business Health Checks?
Business health checks are an extensive insight into an existent business’s functioning pattern. This will analyse the various sub processes aimed at assessing the setup and thereby identifying possibilities, which could help improve upon the overall performance efficiency and effectiveness of the business.
If the definition seems like a sophisticated encapsulation of perhaps a routine job you’ve been doing everyday, then honestly question yourself a simple question. When was the last time that you completely reviewed each and every aspect of your setup? A month maybe … or really more than that? Also while phrasing the answer, remember the term ‘completely’, as it is vital. Whenever it was the last time you checked the business, was it an extensive inspection covering all that exists to help you generate or do business? If in fact you can’t remember when the business was looked at closely, don’t worry as you are not alone.
On the whole, with people focusing on the ladder of success, there are a decreasing amount of hours left for an internal scrutiny of the business. And even if the task is managed, more than often, a few corners are left untouched on account of saying ‘later’ or ‘not vital’ or ‘this a dead file.’ Also the checks are subject to an undefined prejudice, which again beats the purpose of undertaking a comprehensive business health check.
What do Business Health Checks Entail?
Business health checks are an internal examination procedure, undertaken to bring out possible weaknesses in the business that affects the overall functioning pattern. In line with the objective, the health check starts by finding relevant answers to a predefined questionnaire. This questionnaire includes subjects like the structural pattern, internal communication procedures, project alignment vis-à-vis the overall company objective, deadline orientation, new process research and innovation, technology, competition, employees and more. The list is a detailed one, which appropriately touches upon all the aspects of the business. Based upon the findings generated from the analysis, a typical business health check helps to know the industry norms and performance yardsticks followed by the creation of a plot to fulfil the growth and to work out the areas that require support.
Outsourcing Business Health Checks
Businesses are vital and therefore they should be looked after and treated with due respect, because even minor defaults can transform to serious implications. With this in mind, business health checks should be performed on a regular basis. But, a religious commitment towards this duty might not be possible within a business, so outsourcing the health check task to an established company would be the next best course of action.
Ascertaining the Right Company for Your Business
There are several companies to choose from when it comes to performing business health checks. As a general guide, question yourself: do they propose to undertake the diligent task of business health checks on your behalf; are they well experience in Office of Government Commerce’s (OGC) Best Practice methodologies; are they suitably equipped to closely analyse the business functioning pattern in line with the industry norms, set objectives and therefore suggest an optimal course for the business; are the business health check services a comprehensive assessment exercise, which includes the relevant check facets? If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to all the questions, then you have found the company which will best perform your business health checks.

Less Is Definitely Not More When It Comes To Your Health Information!
Less Is Certainly Not More When It Comes To Your Health Information!
Over the past couple of years I have spent a lot of time doing research in several arenas … one of the things that I have learned is a serious lack in availability of stable medical care. By stable, I mean constant. You know, the doctor that you go to for whatever ails you and who knows you better than you know yourself because they’ve been at the helm of your healthcare for years and years.
Of course, the day of the housecall has long since seen sunset, but if you’re not under the care of a G.P. (general practitioner), then who is making sure you get your annual physical? Who is plotting and plotting to get those middle age tests looked after? And, who has ALL of your medical records.
These days, we are all in a rush and in a society of global mobility, our records are being scattered hither and yon! The walk-in clinic you visited last week has a record of your prescription for that nasty chest cough. And the emergency room that you took your son to after that small soccer incident has the x-ray of his sprained ankle. But does anyone, anywhere have a record of everything … every treatment that has been undertaken … every medication …
In all, one million adults and 130,000 children in Ontario alone don’t have a family doctor. The OMA says the province needs 1,000 general practitioners now. (Hamilton Spectator Nov. 26, 2007) (This number grows exponentially when you look across North America … to a whopping 9.8 million!! – US Govt. Committee on Healthcare, Statistics -June, 2007). Government has, over the past few years, introduced a number of programs to provide more medical care especially to rural settings, but is it enough?
There’s too much room for error with numbers like this staring healthcare in the face … medical error that is! And medical errors cost money and lives!! People’s lives are permanently changed or even finished unnecessarily every day across North America due to the lack of essential information needed for doctors to make informed decisions about our care. The time for change is NOW!
But who needs to make the change exactly? Governments across North America and worldwide are recognizing the need and making funds available to improve communication capabilities in the medical industry. Medical practitionners have long-since noted a gap in the flow of information between facilities, private practices and healthcare providers of all sorts. All of these groups are thoughtfully and positively working toward change, but I would suggest that it is not their sole responsibility.
In fact, I would argue that responsibility is just as much that of the individual as it is their doctors’ and governments’.
So today’s order of business … where is your personal health information right now … right this minute? Do you have it neatly organized and typed on your computer or does only your doctor or medical practitioner know for sure? Maybe there’s a trail of prescriptions dating back to 1985 somewhere in your medicine cabinet?
Here’s the rub folks … you never know when you might need to know about yours or your family’s medical infomation! What if you’re on vacation thousands of miles from your doctor’s office or what if they’re just not available at the time? Even if you’re perfectly healthy, you just never know if something from your past might help you out, right?
Medical information technology is forefront in the new US administration’s mandate and your information is in their sights. Canada is working hard to implement a system for health communication as well. But their systems are still years away. What are you going to do in the meantime?
It’s up to you to take control! Do it! You have both the right and the responsibility to make sure that your health information is accurate, complete and current.
Bottom line … something is always better than nothing. Even if you just take a few minutes to write down life threatening conditions, a small of your medical history and what medications you take regularly, it’s better than leaving things to chance. Emergency contact information is also vital in any personal health record so that healthcare providers can get in touch with someone who knows and cares about you. Keep your notes in your wallet and give a copy to someone who cares about you.
Better yet, make it as comprehensive as you possibly can. The more information you can provide, the less likely it is that an unnecessary medical mistake will affect your life!
It’s time for all of us to take responsibility for our own information in every area of our lives. How else can we really be sure the world has an accurate picture of who we really are?
